Handle US issues 'one at a time'
To the Editor:
Why does every issue in government have to be so complicated? I suppose because every politician has their own idea on each issue. Their constituents differ widely across the country. They form groups and packs to support like-minded people. The path down this rabbit hole becomes more convoluted with every step. Most intelligent people know breaking down a problem into manageable parts is the best way forward! The answer must be there is no intelligence in our government. The most common solution today seems to be, agree to disagree or see you in court!
How about an old fashion breakdown of the issues. One at a time if you will. One problem, one bill! Although some problems interlock they can still be broken down. Why tie foreign aid to border security. Just separate the issues, aid to Ukraine, border security, immigration, drug enforcement etc. Handle each
problem on its own merits.
Like it or not our government's solutions to our problems today are manufactured to gain political favor regardless of ethics, value or sustainability. As this continues so does our mounting fiscal debt which supports the bickering in Congress. Even if we manage to survive nursing home leadership, fiscal blindness and tit for tat politics we become weaker as a nation.
As we sink into failure the fingers will point at opposing sides and the cries of "it was not my fault" will be the epitaph! Who then, will be the real loser? We the people!
