Together we can bless those who hunger
To the Editor:
Our Annual Meat Canning Project is complete. We canned 36,000 pounds of chicken which produced 22,827 cans of product. The number puts our total to 815,178 cans of meat since our beginning in 1975. May God bless and keep all who have supported, and all who have received these cans. In March we will be distributing 100 cases of chicken to our local organizations. Here is some good news, we get to do this year over again next year. The secretary, me, has been using the wrong beginning date. So, 2025 will be our 50th year of service, we got younger. HA!
We are still in need of financial help. We would like to remind you that gifts, monies given are tax deductible, and all monies are used for projects. Any monetary gifts can be sent to: Central PA World Hunger Assoc., P.O. Box 76, Belleville, PA 17004.
A special thanks to the Chief Logan Volunteer Fire Company, Station 2 for the use of their building, and all the neighboring households who have graciously put up with us during these four days. Thank you!
To our area businesses: Penn Equipment Co., Nittany Oil, Big Valley Feed & Grain, S & S Trash Service, our local Sentinel, Boring's Trucking, Laverne Peachey, we say thank you for your service.
A special thanks to all the groups that traveled to our project to volunteer their time, may God bless you for your service.
I would like to thank the churches, the groups, the businesses, the families and the individuals who supported us with food supplies and financial gifts. We could not do God's work here in Central Pennsylvania without your help.
We thank Laura Letwiller, Sylvia Diem and Elizabeth Peachey for their service in feeding the canners this year. Job well done.
To Jonathan Coldren, our Canning Coordinator, Sylvanus Peachey Assistant Coordinator, the Directors and the committee members who were able to help with the canning. I would like to say "Great job, thank you."
A big thank you goes out to J. Loren and Wanda Yoder for the housing and transportation of the Canner Boys this year. We appreciate your service to this project.
We give a special thanks to the Canner Boys for giving two years of voluntary service to the canning project.
If you have not yet donated to this project, please do! As I said before, we need your help to make this a successful project.
May this meat be a blessing to those who hunger, and may the Lord bless and keep you.
Together we can!
