Two-tiered justice system

To the Editor:

The Western Journal, June 2021, the $1.5 million damage at the Jan. 6 Capitol riot stands in stark contrast to the estimated over $2 billion costs caused by BLM rioters. Have the perpetrators been treated the same or do we have a two-tiered justice system? Let's look.

BLM's riots devastated small businesses, victimized innocent bystanders, and sparked intense violence against police. 2,000 police officers were injured, 18 deaths, 624 arsons, 2,385 looting incidents, and 16,200 people arrested. "Almost all" citations and charges against protesters were ultimately dropped/dismissed/not filed, according to a Guardian analysis of law enforcement records/media reports in a dozen jurisdictions. Now lawsuits are popping up. New York, Philadelphia, Denver, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Oakland, Milwaukee, Kansas City and Portland (all run by Democrats) are among at least 19 cities who have agreed settlements so far. More cities are being sued coast to coast paying more than $80M total to BLM protesters who sustained various injuries because of law enforcement actions. For example, New York City will give more than $13M to more than 1,000 BLM protesters arrested or interacting with police during 2020 riots following a civil rights lawsuit settlement, $21,000 each and Washington D.C. agreed to pay protesters who were arrested $13.7M, $18,000 each. Carol Sobel, a civil rights attorney in southern California, said that ongoing litigation in the US, which could take years to resolve, is expected to further boost the "national payout total." Anything to stay in power!

Jan. 6 statistics - 114 police officers were injured, two protesters died of heart attacks, one of drug overdose and one unarmed protester, Ashli Babbitt, was killed by a police officer. Democrats defended the use of deadly force, and the officer received a medal. One-thousand arrested, over 700 charged, more in the works, "no compensation and no leniency". A H.S. student who sat in Pence's chair was sentenced to one year in prison. Fourteen years was recommended for pepper spraying an officer. Ten years in prison for swinging a metal flagpole at police before tackling one officer and yanking his gas mask off. Seven and a half years for dragging a police officer into the mob of rioters. Some serving time are being poorly treated in Washington, D.C. jail and refused medical care. Etc.

Other examples - Hillary Clinton, Comey, Clapper, Brennen, Shumer, Steele, Strzok, Page, McCabe, Ohr (Mr. and Mrs.), Rice, and Yates all committed crimes. Some are guilty of lying to Congress or the FBI, mishandling classified information, destroying phones and illegal servers, obstruction, conspiracy, destroying evidence, sleeping with Chinese spies and much more. Yet none have been indicted. We all know how the press, DOJ, FBI, and IRS have been weaponized against conservatives and protect the Democrats and the corrupt Biden family.

Definitely a two-tiered justice system! Remember, the only thing separating us from other animals is we have laws. Or do we? Ecuador, "the island of peace", has become a hotbed of violence run by gangs and cartel. Is this our future?

This week:

insanity ensues

To the Editor:

Another week, and more insanity. The debates, indictments, and mugshots, and what does the Trump propaganda machine do? Hunter Biden and the Biden crime family! Dylan Mulvaney got a single beer can how many months ago, and yet you people can not shut up about it! For God's sake, give it a rest!!! None of you would ever have known anything about this random person if you weren't spoon fed a diet of garbage from whatever it is that you people call "news."

A FORMER PRESIDENT IS FACING 91 CRIMINAL OFFENSES and all you people can say is that the Biden administration is going after their political enemies for the purpose of election interference. Really? Seriously? That is what you believe? Pathetic.

How many hoaxes, witch hunts, and criminal indictments/lockups have to surround Mr. Trump 'til you finally wake up and say something like, you know, seems like a lot of witches going to jail over all these "hoaxes."

Enough already. Or not. Don't change. Follow the time old adage of doing the same thing over again and expecting a different outcome. Put Trump up against Biden again. Be an idiot expecting a different outcome.

I could go on for another 1,000 words about this insane hypocrisy, but as I have said many times before, what would be the point? My target audience does not listen. If you are MAGA, you just don't care about reality.
