Wagner would be asset to Mifflin County
To the editor:
I am writing to express my full endorsement of Jerry Wagner for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Mifflin County. I have known Jerry for many years and have always found him to be extremely competent, honest, and fair as a business owner, attorney, and community member.
Over his career, Jerry has prosecuted over a thousand criminal cases and secured both misdemeanor and felony convictions. He has a 23-0 record arguing criminal appeal cases before the Superior Court and Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. His experience also includes serving as an attorney for the Mifflin County Domestic Relations Office as well as practicing private-sector law for over 25 years.
In addition to his legal practice, Jerry Wagner is a successful businessman who has played an active role in the local economy. He understands the community and the importance of supporting local businesses. He is a dedicated family man who has been married for 29 years and has five children, all of whom have been locally educated in the Mifflin County School District.
As a Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, I believe that Jerry Wagner would be an incredible asset to Mifflin County. I strongly urge you to consider voting for Jerry Wagner in the upcoming election for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Mifflin County. He has the skills, experience, and dedication to succeed in this important role, and I am confident that he would serve the community with honor and distinction.

Democrats lack options to replace Biden
To the editor:
Another four years of Biden after 2024 is unthinkable. However, the Democrats, with all their entrenched power, connections and money, don't seem to have any other presidential options. All those people who tried to run in 2020 got swept away, one by one, because they failed to gather any momentum. And, the Republicans aren't in the best shape for candidates either. Trump seems a less and less attractive candidate as potential criminal baggage keeps piling up, and DeSantis is still an unknown quantity as far as national appeal goes.
What to do? The Republicans keep hoping that the Hunter Biden stuff will finally involve Joe to the point that it will unseat him, but the DOJ under Garland, as well as other Deep State people, will fight in courts long enough for this to have any effect on 2024.
The Republicans have another option that has never been thought viable for obvious reasons, and that is to impeach Biden for, say, permitting the influx of criminal crossings of the Mexican border. What would happen then? Most likely, the impeachment would not pass the Senate; but, in that event, every Democrat voting against would be clearly identified as colluding with the border crisis. Let's be clear: every reasonable politician in Washington knows that the border situation is a complete disaster; so, people voting to keep Biden in office are simply demonstrating that party loyalty means more to them than national good.
The less likely outcome of an impeachment is that it would succeed, leaving us with Harris as President. What then? The House, without delay, could present Harris with a list of demands that, if not satisfied, would lead to her impeachment. This list would include shutting the border, removing all restrictions on fossil fuel production, finishing the Keystone pipeline and other similar matters. Even if Harris agreed to all this, she might face impeachment simply because of her demonstrated inability to represent authority.
So, where would that leave us? With President Kevin McCarthy, I think. Perhaps not a great outcome, but most likely better than any other in the picture now.
