As a retired District Court Administrator of the Mifflin County Court of Common Pleas, I am pleased to write this letter in support of Jonathan Reed for the position of Common Pleas Judge for the Court of Common Pleas. Currently, Jonathan serves the Court of Magisterial District Judge to which he was elected in 2015 and began serving in 2016. He has proven himself to be a sound jurist as he had a deep understanding of the law, is respectful, patient, fair minded and conscientious.
Jonathan began his career with the Court as a Juvenile Probation Officer. He subsequently served the Court of Common Pleas in the capacity of Judicial Law Clerk for two years. It was during his tenure as Judicial Law Clerk that I truly came to know him. He is intelligent and holds himself to high moral and ethical standards.
Mifflin County has two presiding Judges and one Senior Judge. In his capacity as Judicial Law Clerk, he was responsible to assist the Judges in researching legal issues before the Court. He consulted with the Judges on complex legal issues arising before, during and after court proceedings. His responsibilities including drafting Court Opinions, Court Orders and other writings for the Judges. I can attest to the fact that many times his Opinions and Orders were accepted and signed by a Judge as a final document with few or no changes needed.
Jonathan also participated as the Court's Mental Health Review Officer and he acted as the Court's Master over Juvenile Court and Adult Treatment Court. He excelled with all Judicial appointments.
In summary, Jonathan's experience with the Court of Common Pleas and as Magisterial District Judge makes him the candidate most qualified to serve the citizens of Mifflin County as you Common Pleas Judge. Please join me in support of Jonathan Reed for Common Pleas Judge for the County of Mifflin.
