CEOs became richer when inflation hit

This is in response to Mrs Logan's letter published in the Sentinel on Feb 21. Where do I start? Regarding the inflation that we have been having recently, Representative Katie Porter (D) proved in a televised committee meeting that corporate profits were the biggest contribution to making that inflation high. A video of it is on YouTube.

When tax breaks came in, corporate profits rose allowing corporations and businesses to do stock buybacks which in the economic world increased profits going into that business.

The money made went into the pockets of the business owners and shareholders; it did not go into increasing pay or benefits to the workers.

So what if conservatives take a risk in building a company, that company would not be successful if they did not have people working in those businesses. No CEO or business owner should make more than 30 times that of his frontline workers. Does that make me a socialist? No, what that makes me is someone that cares that the frontline has enough money to pay his or her bills, get groceries and maybe go on a vacation without having to worry about things at home or how they are going to pay future bills.

Here is an example of conservatives taking away from the needy: the monthly child allowance, where every kid under six would get $300 while every kid over six until 17 would get $250.

Every Republican in the house and senate voted against it. Thank God for Democrats who voted for it.

Now to Trump's kids and the so-called difference between Hunter Biden and them. Your claim that they made that Trump's kids made their money before daddy became President is utter nonsense and can be debunked by a simple web search.

Ivanka made her deals in China during the second year of Trump's term. The money made by Eric and Don Jr was made when Trump was in office. Those are facts. Now to the claim that Trump did not take a salary – again that has been debunked as was the claim that he gave it to charity.

As for charging Red states for sending illegal immigrants to Blue states – Could it be that Red states don't have enough money to pay those bills? Nine out of the 10 poorest states are Red states.

As for you claiming that mental illness is the main cause for shooting – wrong. A study carried out by Dr Girgis in an article published last year on July 6 on columbipsychiatry.org showed that only 5% of shootings are carried out by someone with a mental illness. A far cry from the 100% you claimed. Was I attacking legal owners or was I attacking the GOP who have proven time and time again and with each and every single time there is a mass or school shooting that all they care about is an object that is made to kill. The GOP proves that they care about lives that could be saved, not all they care about is an object made from metal or composed of plastic and metal. And proved that by making the asinine claim that I was attacking gun owners.
