Trump let the rich
get richer
This is in response to Mrs. Logan's letter published on Feb 8, 2023. I have to ask why is it that every time that a member of the GOP opens their mouth to speak, it always seems to mimic the lies and debunked conspiracy theories that seem to spew from the rightwing.
Let's talk about the national debt. First of all we have the tax scam that Trump did and has been proven to be nothing but a way for the rich to get richer.
How do you ask?
During the past administration, big businesses and corporations, instead of giving those tax breaks, got to lower costs or give a decent pay raise to their employees through stock buybacks, which increased the money in the businesses' pockets.
As for them not making more money than Hunter Biden, I would disagree. But you know Hunter Biden is not the only person to have made money from the use of the family name.
According to the LA Times, Ivanka Trump made deals with China worth millions for her jewelry lines and her husband also got a $2 billion investment from Saudi Arabia.
Donald Trump jr. and Eric Trump made millions from real estate deals, the exact figure is somewhere between $100 and $500 million and that is from an article published on Oct. 14 2019 on Yahoo.
By the way, that tax scam could have only been covered by taking from the needy.
I know you members of the Republican party don't care about the poor or needy, which is proven every time that a letter gets published from the rightwing.
That tax scam helped to raise the national debt by 30% under Trump.
There are homeless people in every single country on the planet, not just here in the US.
I have to ask if you do know that it was Texas and Florida (both Red states) that sent illegal immigrants to Northern Blue states, those northern blue states that received those immigrants should send the bill for the housing and feeding of them to those self same states that sent them in the first place.
Speaking of "illegal" immigrants, you do know that America was actually created by illegal immigration. No paperwork was provided to the native tribes. America was created by illegal immigration from white European ancestors that falsely made treaties with the native tribes, then broke them and that still carries on today with 500 treaties that have been broken. As for people living longer due to medical advances, they still have the right to retire at a decent age even if they do work in menial jobs.
It is not for you to dictate when a person should or should not retire. I guarantee that the rich get to retire when they want, so why can't the people that have paid into Social Security and Medicaid do the same. Seems a bit hypocritical of the rich senators from the GOP to talk about raising the retirement age.
If you want to talk about travesties – sure let's do that. How about the way that your party treats the trans community.
How about the way that your party tried to overturn an election by committing treason and yet had nothing of consequence done to it as a way of punishment.
How about when Trump decided to leave our allies in the lurch in Turkey, or the travesty that led to the death of Jamal Khasoggi that Saudi Arabia carried out and that a monetary deal was made to cover up between the previous administration and Saudi itself.
Or what about the travesty of each and every single mass and school shooting that has happened yet the GOP, who only want to give out meaningless thoughts and prayers, don't want to do anything significant that may prevent them from happening again.
