for annual walk
To the editor:
On Saturday Feb. 4, 2023, 35 people met in Derry Township Community Park to make their way around the one mile trail to raise money for the 13th annual Walk for Warmth. The event was held now, when temperatures are low, so that walkers could imagine what families who are struggling might endure.
Sponsor forms turned in that day equal a total of $6,663.37. The final amount will be slightly higher as donations will continue to be turned in. The funds raised from this event will be used in Mifflin and Juniata County, 100% staying in these counties.
MCS Bank, Snedeker Energy, and Roy E. Berrier and Sons have been wonderful corporate sponsors over the years. They are committed to making a positive impact in the community. We also want to thank MERF Radio for their continued presence at the Walk, Dunkin' for providing hot chocolate to our walkers and to East End Coffee for prize tickets.
