To the editor:
Thank God I can finally respond to some of the progressive/socialist blabbering after my recent heart surgery.
Why is it that the comments coming from the left wing seem to be mimicking those same thoughts that one might envision are on the blackboard in Biden's basement.
Yes, the national debt is high, too high, in fact. It was somewhat excusable during the FDR time in office and also during Trump's term for we were fighting wars against our enemies or did the leftists forget that? Remember also the relief money sent to every American during the pandemic and COVID era.
Did the big companies get richer during Trump's term in office? I would suggest not as rich comparably as Hunter Biden and the \'big guy\' did over the years Biden was VP and even now.
And why are the lefties not complaining about the millions they invite illegally to cross our borders. My God, they house illegals in hotels, while at the same time, quite a few of our homeless veterans sleep on the streets in unheated doorways or alleys or simply with blankets covering their shivering bodies.
The attacks upon Trump I can only fathom as just further misdirection of the dangerous conditions of our nation under the Biden administration. A time when our debt has risen from approximately 9 trillion to over 31 trillion. Who it is now getting rich, I might ask? Surely the blame cannot be placed upon Trump unless one is a rabble rousing lefty parrot.
The social security argument continually comes up as a blame game against republicans. I wish the lefties would read the actual intent of the Social Security program. It was NEVER intended as a retirement program, but instead, a supplemental aid. It was a good program intended for those who paid into it to be claimed upon retirement. And let us address why the Republicans are being attacked. Due to medical advances people are living longer. It is with this in mind when the suggestion to raise the age of benefit users comes up. Not to a lower the benefit age as the dems want to do (which would surely bankrupt the program) but to an age more in line with average survivability ages which is actually a decade longer than it was when Soc. Sec. was enacted.
Why do they not attack the big cost of the federal welfare programs like SSI and Medicaid, both of which users pay not a penny for its benefits, yet even enjoy more benefits than do those on Medicare. Measure that to those on Soc. Sec. who paid during their working years for their benefits and their contribution to the Medicare coverage paid each and every month.
To throw them all into the same pot as if the same is a false claim and the lefties ignore that FACT. But that again is to throw a false narrative into the discussion so as to hide their own travesties imposed upon the American taxpaying citizens now forced into penny pinching for survival.
