Birds of a feather flock together

Tuesday's Sentinel Editorial page (Jan. 3, 2022) contained two articles that were about resolutions. I mostly agree with the principles involved. We should respect others' opinions and ideas, agree to disagree if you will. However, calling out religious beliefs (using the Bible as a "crutch" to support warped morals) is hardly respectful of others' beliefs.
People in the LGBTQ fractional minority seem to think everyone in society (the majority) should follow and praise what they feel is depraved. Hardly! I think it is enough to live and let live. Respecting a person's lifestyle choice is a far cry from endorsement and encouraging it. No one is forcing anyone into Christian religion. You are free to choose what you believe in.
I, for one, find men kissing on television disgusting. The preponderance of couples seen in TV commercials are interracial. This does not represent the world I live in or my community nor is it one I am looking for! That does not mean I am opposed to such conduct. I just don't want to see it in my living room so some company can say they are politically correct.
If someone would like to crow about trans persons maybe they should consider wearing a nice wig, donning lipstick, heels and a miniskirt. Stand on the Courthouse steps and extol the virtue of LGBTQ rights and pleasures! I doubt many from this community would take the time to stop and listen. Most would look and snicker. Meanwhile look at the churches in Mifflin County and see how many people are using a "crutch" to get in the door!
If you don't like the "Adam and Steve" reference, how about "birds of a feather flock together"? You fly your way and I'll fly mine. The sky is big enough for everyone. Just stay out of my nest!
