Practicing tolerance in the new year

To the Editor:

It is the time for New Year's resolutions. Mine is to be an even bigger supporter and ally of the LGBQTIA+ community and to keep calling out the bigots and hypocrites. What do I mean by the bigots and hypocrites? Quite simple, really. People who make asinine claims such as drag artists grooming kids when they have absolutely no proof of it; people who are so outdated that they use the antiquated slur of "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve; people who watched programs such as "Bosom Buddies" or watched movies such as "Mrs. Doubtfire" for entertainment, but don't want to have kids have that same sort of entertainment by having a drag artist read them a story. And of course the biggest bigots and hypocrites of all are the people that use the Bible as a crutch and as a way of fanning their own warped sense of morals that they want to force on others. So what is your New Year's resolution? Is it to lose weight? Give up smoking? Or is it going to be something that will actually benefit people in the community.
