Mifflin County Communities That Care and PAWSitive Vibes would like to offer our appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to our community for supporting the fourth annual tie-dye event held on Oct. 18 at Mifflin County High School.
Youth throughout Mifflin County struggle with depression, anxiety and not feeling good enough. This event was established to highlight the very serious concerns regarding mental health and bring awareness to suicide prevention. Thanks to the support and collaboration of local agencies, businesses, and volunteers, Communities That Care was able to provide over 850 t-shirts with the slogan "be kind" on the front and "reverse the stigma, mental health matters" on the back to Mifflin County students and community members.
On behalf of PAWSitive Vibes students and Communities That Care, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank the following supporters and sponsors of the tie dye event:
• Mifflin County School District for supporting and hosting the event; The Sentinel for covering this important activity and highlighting the student led club, PAWSitive Vibes, as they focus on reversing the stigma associated with mental health; Communities That Care champions: Stay Healthy Stay Safe Mifflin Juniata and Geisinger; PAWSitive Vibes Tribe; Tri-County Drug and Alcohol; Service Access and Management Inc.; Prevention Partners; Wellspring Counseling Center; Center for Community Action; Center for Community Resources; Mifflin County probation department; Lewistown Printworks; and The Husky Club Foundation.
