To the editor:
When I think about what I hear is going on in the world and in our nation I have to wonder where is the stability in any actions taken and words spoken.
The Left is saying one thing and the Right is saying another. This news reporter is claiming one thing and another is reporting something completely different about the same situation.
There is no continuity in what is coming forth from our government. We have heard of food shortages, blackouts, nuclear attacks and much more. I am hearing but am not able to see any stability in what is going on, what is being said that is going to happen.
There is one place I can find both truth and stability and that is God and in His word. I find truth for God's word is inspired by Him and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16), it is "impossible for GOD to lie" (Heb. 6:18), and Jesus states that His "word is truth" (John 17:17) So truth us God Himself and His Word. I find stability in Malachi 3:6 " I am the Lord, I change not."
Further He states in Isaiah 46:10-11 "My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure … I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it." And Daniel tells us in Dan. 4:35 "He doeth according to His will in the army of Heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand, or say unto Him, What doest thou?"
So I will say as Joshua did to the nation of Israel " Choose you this day whom you will serve … as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." ( Josh. 24:15) "For Him we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts. 17:28).
Our hope for truth and stability is in God not in anything being said or happening in this world.
