To the editor:
Ms. Joan Loewen, in her June 29 response to Charles Deibert, assures us that illegal immigrants are "Lawfully admitted". (The work of lawyers.) Also, we hear that various municipalities, here and there, have approved voting by non-citizens. (This again the work of lawyers.)
Let us forget the lawyers, Ms. Loewen. What do you think of the current influx of hundreds of thousands of strangers, which seems to go on without any hint of stopping in the near future? Do you approve that certain of these people are given the right to vote, the premiere right of a citizen? Do you understand why this is happening, based on what the government has told you in the way of explanation? Do you understand why many of these people are surreptitiously being flown to various parts of the country at night?
I don't. This whole program -- if it is a planned program -- is incomprehensible to me. America is my home-my house, if you will. In the rooms of that house live my family and friends. I cannot accept that suddenly some of those rooms in my house are being occupied by people I've never seen before and who, in some cases, are going to take part in deciding what we're going to have for dinner.
I wonder who is running this program. I doubt the President is. He needs a piece of paper to tell him what to do. Nobody in the administration mentions the situation, which just keeps rolling on and on.
My guess, Ms. Loewen, is that you support what's going on because you support what Democrats do. Recently, the Democrat leader of the Senate proposed a bill that would permit abortion up to the day of birth. I wonder whether you support what that Democrat proposes.
Party loyalty, Ms. Loewen, is a dangerous drug.
