Thank you for support after recent loss

To the editor:

On behalf of officers and members of the Junction Fire Company, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness and comfort extended during the recent loss of firefighter and EMT Henry Banks.

Your heartfelt response during this difficult time epitomizes the fortitude, compassion and strength of our local community. The brotherhood that continues to sustain our emergency services was equally evident and is ongoing validation that in times of hardship, there are no boundary lines.

Those who knew Henry best were aware of the immense adversity he faced during his lifetime, but the stories he shared didn't lend focus on those difficult times, rather he openly shared how courage, perseverance, persistence, simplicity and kindness can help propel us through the most difficult of life's challenges.

At 28 years young, he was a mentor and beacon of hope for many. The same qualities Henry Banks bestowed on this world were shared with him in his passing and solidified that "good" still exists, and that is the greatest of honor for our dear friend; for that we say "thank you."
