Why do conservatives get to decide what's normal?
To the editor:
This is in response to the letter that was published on May 11, 2022 by Mr. Spahr.
His letter is a perfect example of the "I am right the scientists are wrong" and the "God doesn't make mistakes" idiotic attitude when it comes to the matter of people who are transgender.
It seems that Mr Spahr, yet again has proven his ignorance in this matter with the line in his very last paragraph with just three words "contradictory to nature" but I will get back to that later.
Mr. Spahr, just like all ignorant people, gets sex and gender mixed up. While I agree that we are born with one of the two available reproductive organs or in some cases both, a person's gender does not come from, as he put it, "gray matter sending confusing signals" but is in reality and according to the Merriam Webster dictionary "the expression of a gender identity that differs from the one which corresponds to a person's sex at birth." Expressions do not come from confusing signals.
As for Mr. Spahr saying that the "claim of multiple genders is dubious," really, Mr. Spahr? Now who is claiming that he knows more than the experts? That would be you. Did you suddenly get some sort of degree overnight that makes you know more than those same experts that you claim as being dubious?
Now to his claim of manipulation at home and at school. Really Mr. Spahr? And your proof of this manipulation is what -- some Republican talking head telling you it is going on without actually providing evidence? No, Mr. Spahr, what you claim as manipulation is a parent or a teacher doing what they are supposed to do and that is supporting the child in whatever they what to do. It is browbeating them into believing that their feelings don't count as is the norm in conservative households. As of my proof of that happening I have seen it happen on numerous occasions.
You claim that it is not "society's job to correct or accept this," really, Mr Spahr, why not? If you seriously want to go about acceptable behavior in society, then let's talk about what happened on Jan. 6, 2020 when numerous people tried to overturn an election just because they disliked the outcome. Are you saying that is acceptable and normal, or what about the lynchings that happened back in the 19th and early 20th centuries of people of color? Are you saying that they were normal and that we should accept them as being normal? No, Mr. Spahr, what you are saying is that it is nor normal for you or people like you.
Let me ask you this, so what if the kid down the street decides that he or she was born the wrong sex and wants to get the sexual reorientation surgery, how does that personally affect you? I know that you won't answer that question maybe because you don't have a real answer or maybe you are just following the party line and with the against nature nonsense.
Also you mentioned about a perversion. Really? What about a man in his late 20s sleeping with a minor such as Matt Gaetz did? No, sir, that is a perversion, but as usual, all your party cares about is transgender people. I have yet to be proven wrong on that.
As for you claiming "the minority yearning for multiple gender acceptance is irritating to people who find it contradictory to nature. This is not hate, this is common sense," you are wrong.
As for claiming "Normal is not confused" really who's definition of normal? Your "normal" well you have clearly shown that in your letter, is different to other people's normal. Normal does not mean the same to all people. My advice to you is to stop spewing the nonsense you did in your letter as it clearly shows the real you.
