Hershey has proven he is there to support us
To the editor:
To ensure that our small rural counties have aggressive, progressive and forward thinking representation in Harrisburg, we must re-elect John Hershey.
In the first couple of months that Representative Hershey served in the Legislature, he sponsored a law that saved our Call A Ride Service from becoming a private contract. That guaranteed a local service would continue for our senior citizens and persons with health problems to have appropriate transportation to medical appointments.
He met with farmers and backed programs for agriculture. He visited classrooms and talked with students about the importance of education. He held regular evening education and discussion meetings open to the public to discuss current local, state and national issues. He visited senior centers to listen and understand their concerns.
The list of actions and interactions could continue; but the important fact is to vote for Representative Hershey on May 17 to ensure his leadership continues for Perry and Juniata counties. That is the kind of representation in the Legislature that is needed in our current society!
