Allowing trans athletes is unfair to girls, women
To the editor:
This is a reply to Eric Becht's letter to the editor in the April 18 Sentinel.
Mr. Becht, how arrogant of you to to impose a questionable choice of a trophy presentation. Your assumption that the majority of people must agree with the minority is wrong in every way possible.
As of November 2021, 10 states have enacted a ban on transgender sports: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Mississippi, Montana, South Dakota (by executive order), Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia. There are many more coming.
In every sporting contest there are rules for entrants. There are age limits, equipment requirements and physical exams. Even in horse racing if you're not the right age, sex or do not have the proper pedigree, you do not qualify. Even dogs need papers to compete. Lia Thomas was born a male and can live her/his life in what ever way he/she likes. When it comes to sports as a she, she does not qualify. She is a male regardless of what she portends.
The fact that the trophy was given to Lia over a bona-fide female was just another attempt by left-wing wokeness and presumed political correctness to erode Christian values. It was a slap in the face to every person with a moral compass.
This is no fabrication. You are born with organs that define your sex. Your sex gives you hormones and bone structure that is very different for obvious reasons. A very small minority want to change nature. It cannot be done!
What part of the majority's disdain of transgender sports do you not understand, Mr. Becht? You are in a small minority. It is another case of the tail trying to wag the dog.
The only correct statement you made Mr. Becht was you don't know much about sports. It obvious you knows less about biology and even less about the moral values of others.
Forget transgender sports! They will be gone by legislation soon and you can find some other frivolous quest.
Go back to BLM. They need help. Their leader Patrisse Cullors was complaining the other day about the IRS form 990 that disclosed BLM purchase of a $5.8 million mansion for her with donor funds. She also resigned from BLM last year after she bought several other homes for $3.2 million. According to George Fisher, these are strictly Republican tactics.
According to the New York Post, BLM transferred ownership to a Delaware LLC to hide ownership. Cullors claims the IRS is using the 990 rules unfairly. Maybe you can explain how IRS rules apply to every charity in America, except BLM. Should be easier than explaining how a boy is the same as a girl in sports. Good luck!
