Laura Hollis regularly peddles misinformation

1 min read

To the editor:

I totally agree with Gary Gill's recent letter concerning Laura Hollis. She is by far the worst but Betsy McCaughey is a close second. For example, implying in her July 17 article that immigrants are responsible for upticks in coronavirus cases, when official statistics show the pockets of infection are in three southern (Republican) states -- Florida, Texas and Kentucky. Local people have gone to Florida and come back infected -- their comment: President Trump advised against the vaccine."

On the opinion page, July 19, Laura Hollis is deliberately listing characteristics of the Republican world view (first paragraph) -- military industrial complex, etc., as those of the progressives, to attempt to create confusion and to cover for the worst president in history (Donald Trump and his fascist tendencies).

And Star Parker just doesn't get it.

Many times when I read these particular writers, I think "I hope they are not turning The Sentinel opinion page into the 'Consider the source' conclusion in the very good advice they print many times about reading the paper: Ask, Listen, Read, Think, Participate, Demand Facts, Support Real News, Consider the Source.
