A tale of two different nations

1 min read

To the editor:

Our nation once again observes the Fourth of July. In the past we were able to come together to celebrate the passage of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776 as one nation and one people, that is until recently.

This year patriots will commemorate July 4th with a celebration led by President Biden as our history is solemnized with the retelling of our forefathers' fight for independence. There will be parades, fireworks, family picnics, and games. At the close of the day, it will be remembered as the day the nation was founded! One nation united in the land of e pluribus unum.

Whereas, compatriots will commiserate the insurrection led by former President Trump as our history is sodomized with the rewriting of our forefathers' fight using his own delusional narrative in which he calls his holiday "The Salute to America." There may be games and parades, but at the close of their day, it will be remembered for the "Big Lie." How the election was stolen and that this is a nation of WWG1WGA.
