To the editor:
This letter is in response to the letter by Joan Loewen in the May 19 Sentinel. She doesn't think it is appropriate for someone to have an opinion. I wish to draw her attention to the title of the column.
As far as whether or not the cartels are using these illegals to help smuggle drugs into this country, you need only to watch the news reports and listen to what the border agents and police are saying about what is going on. They not only use illegals as diversions, but also as mules. As far as the increase in crime goes, anyone with common sense knows that with an increase in drug traffic, you are bound to have an increase in crime.
As far as any stimulus money and the $1,400, when you give yours back, you can question what I did with mine.
When it comes to jobs lost from Biden shutting down the XL pipeline, the number reported on the news was between 10,000 and 11,000 jobs lost.
As far as Russia interfering in an election, they do that all the time. They love it when one side or the other questions the system. In the 2016 election, it was Clinton and her campaign used a phony Russian dossier, payed for by her campaign, to try to win an election and cause a lot of trouble for a couple years until it was finally proven to be completely bogus. And I know that Russia sure wasn't trying to elect Trump in 2020 because he was harder on Russia than anyone. Biden has already taken the sanctions off of Russia's pipeline to Germany.
As for Democrats admiring communist dictators, it was Hillary Clinton herself who made the statement that she admired Mao of communist China and what he did in China. Also, Bernie Sanders and others thought that Castro was the bee's knees in Cuba. Even Obama himself said as much.
