To the editor:
This heartless bag of lies, Donald J. Trump, has mourned the loss of his rallies more than the 100,000 dead Americans. And still, some of you support him. Why?
Do you ever actually watch him live? Or do you just hear the edited clips on right wing media? He does not care if you live or die. All he cares about is himself, just like every other dictatorial figure in history.
To Donald J. Trump and the GOP's ruling elite we are nothing but a cog in their narcissistic scheme to enrich themselves. To them we are nameless, faceless cogs that are replaceable. Kevin Hassett, Trump's economic adviser, said the quiet part out loud; "we have enough human capital supply."
As an economist he casually reduced us to a line on a balance sheet just as the slave owners of old. The president and his enablers (Republicans) have decided that they will spend as much of this capital (American lives) as is necessary to keep making money.
To keep Wall Street propped up, the GOP wants to spend 10,000 Americans a week to keep the economy healthy!
This president enacted the Defense Production Act to force cogs (mostly brown cogs) into unsafe working conditions for meat not tests. Why? Because these workers are replaceable and tests tell the truth. The truth is something the GOP is incapable of allowing their supporters to know.
There is an evil in the GOP. An evil that allows for children to be taken from their mother's and jailed. An evil that sends people like the immigrants all of us (other than Native Americans) descend from to camps rife with disease and violence. An evil that is outraged that anyone (Twitter and the press) who has the audacity to recognize the president's lies. An evil that pits scientifically backed wearing of masks against the arrogance of rights without responsibility. An evil that rewards loyalty to one over the age old mantra of all for one and one for all. An evil that allows a white man to take a knee and take the life of a black man while a black man takes a knee and loses a career. An evil that considers us to be "human capital." An evil that will argue to save a ball of cells created by a rapist while urging us to sacrifice to "maintain the American way."
Is this who we are? Is this who you are? It is what the GOP has become.
