Nevada Jayne Wray

Nevada Jayne Wray, 94, of McClure, died peacefully at Greenwood Village in Lewistown on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2026, after an extended illness. The staff at Greenwood provided excellent care to her.

Jayne was born on Jan. 20, 1932, in Lewistown; she was the daughter of the late William M. Dillman and Mabel M. (Parson) Dillman.

She married Paul Wray in 1952, and together they raised three children in the two houses he built in Decatur Township, Mifflin County. Jayne took great joy in being a mother and wife, and she worked briefly as a playground monitor at Decatur Elementary when her children attended. She also volunteered as an EMT with Decatur Fire Company. Earlier in life she worked as a lifeguard at the YMCA, the Arrow Shirt factory, Woolworths, and the Diana Restaurant.

Jayne's devotion to her family was evident in everything she did from everyday chores to caring for her elderly mother and helping her extended family. She packed lunches, gave great advice, and made sure everyone was safe and happy. She never missed a school event, always celebrated birthdays, and participated in Girl Scouts. In the summers, she warmly invited a little girl named Luisa from the Fresh Air fund to be one of our family.

Jayne is survived by her children, Kathi (Wray) Miller (Gary,) Paula Wray (Don Reed,) and Daniel Wray; two grandchildren, Kimber Fisher and Rick Miller (Crista), great-grandchildren, Devin (Kayla), Kadie, Keegan, and Haley, and great-great-grandchildren, Abel, Annika, and Seeley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul L. Wray; siblings, Mary Katherine (Teedy) Dillman, William Brown, Carl Brown Dillman, Harry LeMoyne Dillman, Donald Dillman, Helen Hope Dillman Witt, Dolly Brown Dillman Learn, George Clifford Dillman, and Phyllis Dillman Sheaffer.

A celebration of life will be held sometime in the future.

Arrangements are under the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, Lewistown.
