Melvin Earl Price Jr., 70, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, at home and surrounded by his family after a long and courageous fight against cancer.
Born on Oct. 8, 1956, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Melvin E. Price and Joanne L. Price. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Price, and his sister, Leslie Kohler.
Melvin is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Irene; his children, Kristy Manbeck and her husband, Marlin; Melvin Price III and his wife, Stephanie; and Ashley Snyder and her husband, Jason, all of Lewistown; his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Mona Jasper, Tambra Price, Mark Price, and Holly Crnjar.
Melvin graduated from Lewistown Area Senior High School in 1974. He went on to work at Overhead Door for 30 years, dedicating many years of his life to his career. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting, gardening, collecting, and rebuilding old lawn tractors, and spending time around the campfire with his family. He appreciated the simple things in life and the moments spent with the people he loved.
Melvin's passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him that can never truly be filled. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created, the love he gave, and the legacy he leaves behind will live on through the generations of his family.
