Teresa L. King, 69, of Reedsville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026 at her home.
Born Dec. 27, 1956, in Chambersburg to the late Gilbert G. Rhoades, Jr. and Anna M. (Spigelmyer) Rhoades, of Reedsville. Teresa was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Lisa M. Cavanaugh. She is survived by siblings: Linda and Gary Mink of Naples, Fla., Gilbert “Dusty” and Ronda Rhoades of Milroy.
Teresa was married Aug. 17, 1974 to Wade King Sr., recently celebrating 52 years together. During their blessed life, they raised four children, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. All of which were a tremendous source of pride and joy for Teresa. Wade and Bonnie King Jr., Reedsville; Patricia and Shawn Peters, McVeytown; Matthew and Valerie King, Lewistown; Andrew and Tasha King, Rebersburg.
She graduated from Kishacoquillas High School in 1974, where she served as class president.
Teresa dedicated her life to serving others and taking care of her family. She was employed as a township secretary for a local municipal government for 30 years. She earned life membership with the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department, catering countless meals for special occasions and was well known for her stuffing and of course the chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. Teresa greatly enjoyed her many years working with the Kish Creek Trout Tournament and the friends that she saw year after year.
But Teresa's greatest joy was her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Christmas season was by far one of her favorite times of year. She made sure that every detail was perfect and that every child felt special, and nobody ever left hungry! Teresa will be greatly missed by many, but her memory will live on in the legacy she has created.
