Joyce V. Parson, 90, of Lewistown, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.
Born on Sept. 21, 1936, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Walter Dodson, Jr. and Catherine (O'Shell) Dodson, and was also the daughter of, Jay "Lefty" Sheaffer, her stepfather. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Dodson.
Joyce's memory will be lovingly cherished by her children, Douglas P. Parson, of Lewistown, Pamela S. Carolus and her husband, Bruce, of McVeytown, and Bryan J. Parson, of Yeagertown; her grandchildren, Scott Carolus, Jason Carolus and his companion, Samantha Ramsey, Kristin Koch and her husband, Mike, and Bradley Parson and his companion, Stephanie Foltz; five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Donald Dodson, of Mifflin.
Joyce was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewistown. Throughout her working years, she was employed as a bank teller with the Lewistown Trust Department and Juniata Valley Bank. She also enjoyed working part-time at Wilson's Jewelry.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, at Lind Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Allen Hulslander officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
