Henry J. Summy, 80, of Allensville, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026 at home.
Born on Dec. 8, 1945, in Meyersdale, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Wengerd) Summy. On Oct. 26, 1967, he married Mattie (Yoder) Summy, who survives.
Along with his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Salina M. Peachey and husband Roman of Allensville; Nancy K. Peachey and husband Louie of Belleville; Martha Swarey and husband Isaac of Allensville; 26 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.
Henry was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Erma Swarey, Isaac Swarey Jr., Benjamin Swarey; and he was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026 from 10 a.m. to8 p.m. at the Elmer J. Peachey residence, 145 Rolling Hill Lane, Allensville. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026 at 1 p.m. at the same location with the home ministers officiating. Burial will be in the Allensville Amish Mennonite Cemetery.
