Freda N. (Goss) Snook Combs, 88, of McClure, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, at Locust Grove in Mifflintown.
Born Aug. 26, 1938, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Clarence C. Goss and Ester Adaline (Romig) Goss. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Eyer, and a grandson, Eric Pheasant.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Musser and husband, Roger, of Middleburg; Sharon Hess and husband, Michael, of McClure; and Michael Landon Snook and companion, Amy Snook, of McClure; grandchildren, Jared Pheasant, Joshua Straub and wife, Christi, Jenna Straub, Ryan Snook and wife, Diana, Megan Taylor and husband, Adam, and Derrick Snook and companion, Jess Carson; great-grandchildren, Landon, Kennedy, Micah, Jayden, Kaili, Deven, Devlin, Liam, Konner, and Aerilyn; and great-great-grandchildren, Lovina and Beau.
In her earlier years, Freda worked as a waitress at Corkins Diner.
Freda had a lifelong love of movies and could happily lose herself in a good film. She was an avid Civil War enthusiast and had a special love for cats, who brought her companionship and joy throughout her life. Those who knew Freda will remember her for her independent spirit, her sense of humor, and the love she had for her family.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
