She worked as a housewife, a seamstress at the Thompsontown Shirt Factory, a clerk at Bell Telephone, and a teller at the Juniata Valley Bank.
She attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown.
She was a skilled seamstress who made many wedding dresses, braided rugs and other garments for her family as well as for others. She enjoyed reading, family gathering events and, in previous years, helped to deliver Meals On Wheels. She was a great conversationalist and could put anyone at ease. She held deep friendships with many people in the community and especially with the local Amish families who knew her well. Holiday events featuring vast amounts of food were an ongoing joy for her, the Heimbaugh family and many friends in the local community. Along with her sister Jean, she liked to bake whoopie pies for everyone who would eat them. She loved her husband of many years, Joe, who was a good foil for her sharp sense of humor. In past years', she enjoyed acting in many of the Locust Run Community Hall theatre productions that were written and directed by her brother Ralph and her cousin Rodney Pry. She truly enjoyed entertaining in person, at her dinner table, or on stage. She was a true star!
There will be a visitation for family and friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, corner of Orange and North Third streets, Mifflintown, followed by her memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Rodney Bower and the Rev.
