Edgar T. “Eddie” Parks, 81, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Nov. 16, 1944, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Agnes (Parks) McMillin.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda (Miller) Parks, whom he married on Dec. 17, 1970; his son, Chris Parks, of Colorado; his grandchildren, Michelle (Prince) Foust and her husband, Nick, Cassandra Prince and her husband, Chris, and Trenton Beasom and his companion, Mikaila Hooper; his great-grandchildren, Maverick and Meredith Foust; and Victoria Beasom and her husband, Terry, whom Eddie considered a daughter, his brother, Guy Parks and his wife Sally, his niece Amanda, and numerous other nieces.
Eddie was employed as a glass cutter for many years before retiring from Guardian Glass.
Eddie possessed a true zest for life and a larger-than-life personality, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A devoted member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lewistown, and St. Jude's Catholic Church in Mifflintown. Eddie's faith was an important part of his life. He also found great joy on the softball diamond, where he proudly served as an umpire for nearly 50 years through ASA Softball and PIAA events. He was recently honored by the PIAA for 30 years of service. Eddie was passionate about umpiring and, throughout the years, formed countless friendships and touched the lives of many through the sport he loved.
He was a Fourth-Degree Knight of Columbus at St. Jude's, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and a life member of Brooklyn Hose Company, FAME Fire Company, and Junction Fire Company. He was also a founding member and past board member of the Little League Girls Softball Association and a member of the Huntingdon County Hall of Fame.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, at King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, at the funeral home with Father Joshua Cavender officiating. Interment will follow in Juniata Memorial Park.
