Dixie H. Hafer, 92, of Reedsville, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026 at her home.
Born on March 8, 1934, in Mifflin, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd S. and Edna (Rothrock) Wise. On Feb. 26, 1955, she married George P. Hafer, who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 2016.
Surviving is a godson, Dustin M. Hostetler of Reedsville; a special nephew, Robert L. Bramm and wife Heidi of Mifflin; a niece, Nina K. Beaver of Selinsgrove; two great-nephews, Michael Lisa and Brian Beaver; two great-nieces, Heather Rand and Carry Ann Beaver, as well as four great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Jane (Wise) Bramm, a nephew, Ray C. Bramm, Jr. and a niece, Rose Ann Bramm.
Dixie graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1952. She was first employed at Fisher Electronics and retired from Alltrista/Ball Unimark Plastics LLC in Milroy.
Dixie loved to read and go shopping. Earlier in life she did a lot of canning and sewing.
She was a member of the Reedsville United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held at Church Hill Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Cathy Dawes officiating.
