Betsy A. Olson, 73, of Lewistown, passed away on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at Greenwood Village.
Born April 11, 1953, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Elizabeth (Shenk) Shimp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis K. Olson, her previous husband, Robert "Bob" Shannon, and a brother, Randy Shimp.
She is survived by her children, Brett Bagrosky and wife, Christina, of Lewistown, Chad Bagrosky and wife, Kristy, of McVeytown, Mark Bagrosky and wife, Andrea, of Lewistown; stepson, Scott Olson, and wife, Christina, of Reedsville; grandchildren, Shaelyn, Jace, Sawyer, Wyatt, and Maddux Bagrosky, Michelle Fultz and husband, Dillon, Megan Olson; siblings, Jim Shimp, of McVeytown, Bill Shimp, of Lewistown, Barb Barton and husband, Brian, of Milroy.
She was a 1971 graduate of Penn Highlands High School.
In her earlier years, she worked at Overhead Door, J&D Bus Co., and later retired from Mifflin County School District.
Betsy loved being outdoors and took great care in tending her property and flowers. Her family recalls many happy memories of coming together every Thursday for family dinner. Betsy would make sure that everyone had their favorite food and ice cream flavor. She enjoyed bowling, spending time at camp, and taking rides through the mountain. Traveling was one of her greatest joys, especially her trips to Alaska.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, at Birch Hill Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
