Tommy D. Harpster, 83, passed away on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, at Greenwood Village.
Born Nov. 10, 1942, he was the son of the late Thomas E. Harpster and A. Joyce (Leeper) Harpster.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Susan M. (Gingrich) Harpster, whom he married on Dec. 4, 1965.
In addition to his lovely wife, he is survived by his two children: Amy (Harpster) Koenig and her husband, Rick, and Matthew Harpster and his wife, Jennifer (McKee) Harpster; sibling, Glenda Lanzendorfer of Hollidaysburg.
Grandchildren Michael Koenig, Matthew Koenig, Kaitlyn (Harpster) Krout and her husband, Garrett, and grandson Cade Harpster and his wife, Alexis (Kirchoff).
Great-grandson Miles Krout and great-grandson Maverick Harpster, to be born in November.
Tommy is a 1960 graduate of Chief Logan High School. He enlisted in the Air Force and served as a Senior Airman in Vietnam. Upon returning home, he worked at Standard Steel for a few years before becoming the mailman that everyone knew and loved. He retired from the Burnham Post Office in 2005. He was a lifetime member of Burnham Fire Company.
Tommy loved camping, tinkering in his best friend's garage, having campfires, and playing cards with his neighbors.
He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Greenwood Village for taking such excellent care of Tommy.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tommy's memory to the Burnham Fire Company.
