Steven E. Settle, 69, of Reedsville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at his home.
Born April 11, 1957, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late George F. Settle Sr. and Evelyn Marie (Leach) Settle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George F. Settle Jr. and Dennis Settle, and by his brother-in-law and best friend, Stephen Isenberg; mother-in-law, Patricia Fultz and brother-in-law, Steve Fultz.
He is survived by his wife, Kelley (Fultz) Settle, whom he married May 22, 1982, after dating since 1974, a total of 52 years together; children, Andy Settle and wife, Brittany, Kalin Settle and companion, Heidi Perruso, both of Lewistown; grandchildren, Logan, Nolan, Payton, Charlie, and Riley Settle; siblings, Ron Wagner, of New Lancaster Valley, Denise Zook and husband, Jerry, of Mexico, Pa., Deb Hower and husband, Mike, of Lewistown, Todd Settle and wife, Ellen, of Milroy; and a sister-in-law, Susan Settle, of Dauphin.
Steve was a 1976 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School and a United States Army veteran.
He was a member of Rocky Hollow Camp, a place where he found friendship, purpose, and countless memories.
Above all else, Steve cherished his family. They were the heart of his life, and he took great pride in each generation.
In his youth, Steve was an exceptional runner. He was the inaugural winner of the Big Valley Invitational cross country meet in 1975 and repeated as champion in 1976. He placed 6th in the mile at the Pennsylvania State Track and Field Championships and 7th in the Pennsylvania State Cross Country Championships his senior year. Achievements he carried with quiet pride.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman and turkey hunter, and built several of his own muzzleloaders, a testament to his skill and patience.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In memory of Steve, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
