Roland G. “Rolly” Yoder, 93, of Belleville (formerly of McAlevy's Fort and Stone Valley), passed away on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, at Valley View Haven Nursing Home.
Born on March 4, 1933, in Mill Creek, he was the son of the late Elmer and Edith (Burkholder) Yoder. On March 26, 1955, he married Annabelle L. (King) Yoder, who preceded him in death on July 10, 1998. In 2000, he married Ruth Ann Metzler Yoder, who preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 2020.
Surviving are children: Edward L. Yoder and wife Carol (Good) of Stone Valley; Daughter-in-law: Ronda (Peachey) Yoder, of Stone Valley; grandchildren: Celeste Lodiong and husband Clement; Vanessa Morehead and husband Titus; Cassandra Williams and husband David; Evan Yoder; Desiree Gertzen; Dustin Yoder and wife Heidi; Kristen Bearley and husband Josh; Shannon Peachey and husband Jason; 17 great-grandchildren: Analee, Alfred, Eliana, Lizzy Jo, Alex, Abby, Levi, Colton, Emma, Leah, Mya, Eric, JJ, Chayce, Abel, Sadie and Jeb; siblings: Marie Allison and husband Bob of Allensville; Ruby Yoder and husband, Leonard; Rhoda Campbell and husband, Jim; sisters-in-law: Becky Yoder; Lois Yoder, all of Belleville; and Brenda King of Stone Valley.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: David E. Yoder and Michael R. Yoder, a granddaughter: Carmen Yoder; siblings: Peter Yoder, Shirley Yoder Grace; John K. Yoder; Willard Yoder Sr. and a brother-in-law: Robert King.
Rolly was a life-long dairy farmer. He spent time as a Sea Going Cowboy, delivering livestock to countries following WWII. He served as a Jackson Township Supervisor and was a life-long member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church, where he served as a teacher and superintendent of Sunday school, as well as an Elder. He loved the Lord, the church, and studying the scripture.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting trips. Rolly and Annabelle enjoyed wintering in Florida for a number of years. He took a loving interest in people and enjoyed engaging in conversation.
He loved his family children and grandchildren and prayed for them often.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2026 at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 115 Maple Grove Road, Belleville. The burial will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. following the burial, at the Maple Grove Mennonite Church with Pastors Pheobe Quaynor and Herb Zook officiating.
