Pauline M. Esch, 80, formerly of Belleville, who was residing with her daughter and son-in-law in Lewistown, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026.
Born on March 21, 1946, in Allensville, she was the daughter of the late Daniel D. and Tilma S. (Byler) Harshbarger. On April 9, 1966, she married C. David Esch, who preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 2022.
Surviving are children, Pearl Miller and husband, Kent, of Lewistown, and Dwaine Esch and wife, Heather, of Dothan, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Megan Whitsel and husband, Shiloh, Alan Miller, Daniel Miller, Christopher Esch and wife, Andrea, Amber Ramirez, Krissy Esch and fiancé, Caleb Huff, and Austin Esch and wife, Sarah Grace; and three great-grandchildren, Alexander Ramirez, Owen Ramirez and Graelynn Esch.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Pauline graduated from Kishacoquillas High School in 1965. She was primarily a homemaker and worked at Allensville Planing Mill as a janitor for some time.
She was a member of Allensville Mennonite Church, the Hearts and Hands Sunday school class and the Sister's Sewing Circle.
Pauline enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers, cooking and baking, and getting together with her family.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, at Allensville Mennonite Church, 1156 state Route 655, Belleville. The funeral service will also be held at the church at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, with Pastors Adam Peachey and Bob Zook officiating. Burial will be at Allensville Mennonite Cemetery following the service.
