Luther Franklin DuBois Jr., 87, of Lewistown, entered the gates of Heaven at 5:10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, at Geisinger-Danville, Hospital.
Born Feb. 3, 1939, in Ridgeland, S.C., he was a son of the late L. Frank DuBois and Ida, Ruth. (Lowther) DuBois.
Luther was married to the late Betty J. DuBois on Aug. 5, 1960.
Luther is survived by his four children, Patricia Swailes-DuBois and husband, Don, of Mifflintown, David DuBois and wife, Sandra, of Burnham, Daniel DuBois, and Bertha Brought and husband, Scott Brought, all of Lewistown; 13 grandchildren, Ashley Stundon, Amanda Priznar and husband, Damian, Lance DuBois and wife, Deidra, Chad DuBois and wife, Natalie, Dalton DuBois and fiance, Brianna Joleigh, Kelsey Kane and husband, Zack, Aiden DuBois, Clay DuBois, Erin Meixel, 19 great-grandchildren, his cousin, Wendel Bunton and many nieces and nephews.
He was a high school graduate and served in the U.S. Army as an engineer.
Frank was employed by the Mifflin County court house, and many other companies.
He was a member of Parkview Church of the Brethren.
Frank loved his large family, especially spending time with all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a faithful Christian and loved his country.
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026 at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at noon, with Pastor Jeff Snyder officiating.
Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park with military honors provided by VFW Post No. 7011.
