Larry E. Sweitzer, 82, of Burnham, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at his home.
Born Aug. 11, 1944, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Code Sweitzer and Sara (Kinslow) Fisher.
He is survived by his children, Brian Sweitzer and companion, Heidi Stewart, of Granville, and Holly Jo Majestic and husband, Steve Jr., of Lewistown; grandchildren, Sage Frankhouser and husband, Chad, Carter Sweitzer, Zack Majestic, Derek Majestic and wife, Larissa, Cody 'Wild Bill' McElwain and wife, Jen; siblings, Dorothy Mahady, of Millerstown, Code Sweitzer and wife, Pat, of Lewistown, Garry 'Luke' Sweitzer, of Lewistown, Richard Sweitzer and wife, Jamie, of McVeytown.
Earlier in life, he worked at the American Viscose, and later at Marlette Homes where he served in maintenance.
Larry loved being outdoors hunting and fishing, also found joy racing and attending sprint cars races. He was also a generous supporter of the SPCA and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, giving from the heart to causes that mattered deeply to him.
A viewing will be held from 12 to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Jeannine Leister officiating.
Interment will be take place at Juniata Memorial Park.
