Kathy Jean Eckley, 72, of Milroy, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, at her home.
Born on May 13, 1954, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Twila A. (Geedy) Parchey.
On June 21, 1975, she married John W. Eckley, Jr., who survives at their home.
Along with her husband, she was survived by daughters: Heather Lee Deppen and husband Stephen of Lewisberry, Pa.; Jodi Lyn Sadler of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Amanda Jo Moeller and husband D.J. of Lewistown; five grandchildren: Jacob William Eckley and wife Jaclyn; Marissa Elise Sadler; Jocelyn Clair Sadler; Cassandra Lee Sadler; John Wolfgang Moeller; sister-in-law: Cindy L. Roycroft of Reedsville. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Pamela K. O'Keefe; and a brother: Andrew Parchey.
Kathy graduated in 1972 from Rothrock High School, and then from Lancaster General Hospital Nursing School in 1975, as a registered nurse. She was the head nurse in Pediatrics at Jersey Shore Hospital; she also worked as an RN at Ohesson Manor, and retired from Lewistown Hospital in 2016 with 41 total years of nursing.
She was a member of Milroy CMA Church, where she assisted with Bible school and Sunday school classes.
Kathy enjoyed playing bingo, enjoyed many trips with the "beach girls," and enjoyed going camping and on the pontoon boat with her family.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. noon on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at Henderson-Bohn Funeral Home, 6880 State Route 655, Reedsville. The funeral service will be held following the viewing at noon with Pastor John Hughes officiating. Burial will take place at the Salem Cemetery, Milroy.
