Barbara A. Keller, 88, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Nittany Valley in Pleasant Gap.
Born Aug. 26, 1938, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret (Russell) Estep. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Keller; her son, Richard Keller; her grandson, Devin Mattern; and her siblings, Jim Newman, Judy Heitnan, and Peggy Bailey. Barbara was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Debra Mattern and her husband, Randy, of Milroy; her sons, Mark Keller and his wife, Jodi, of Turbotville, and Chris Keller and his wife, Alana, of Lewistown; her adoring grandchildren, Erin Keslar, Samuel Keller and his fiancé, Sarah Hixson, Ryan Keller, Alex Keller, and Zach Keller; and her great-grandson, Brooks Keslar.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Barbara found great joy in caring for the people and home she loved. She took pride in keeping her home well maintained and enjoyed cooking for her family, crocheting special things for her loved ones, and completing crossword puzzles. She was also a familiar and enthusiastic presence at the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Above all, Barbara cherished the time she spent surrounded by her beloved family, creating the memories they will carry with them always.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown, with Pastor Doug Sabin officiating. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Mt. Rock Cemetery.
