Vera L. Jenkins

Vera L. Jenkins, 89, of Mount Union, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 29, 2026.

Born Dec. 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Mahala E (Cramer) Grove. Her father was the late Samuel H. Grove. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Jenkins, Sr. whom she shared 58 years of marriage; and her siblings, Robert H. Grove, Verna M. McCartney, Helen I. Long, Erma Jean Smith, Patricia Grove, and Samuel T. Grove. Two sons also preceded her in death, Robert C. Jenkins, Jr., and Daniel P. Jenkins. Vera is survived by her children, David A. Jenkins of Maddensville, Cynthia Jenkins and Sandra (Mark) House both of Mount Union; grandchildren, Dustin Jenkins, Danielle Domizio, Kelsey Rhodes, Dylan Jenkins, Kirsty House and Kole House; and great grandchildren Dyson Jenkins, Jazlynn Jenkins and Josslin Domizio. Vera worked as an electronics draftsman in her early working career. She worked many jobs before retiring from Berg Electronics in Mount Union. Vera loved listening to bluegrass music and attended many bluegrass festivals in her lifetime, most recently in June.

In her early years, she sang on the local Huntingdon radio station WHUN on "The Rusty Cramer Show" with her cousin Joan Devlin. Vera will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service at Monroe Valley Cemetery, Rockhill Furnace, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026.

The Rev. Angela M. Wise, officiant. In lieu of flowers charitable contributions in Vera's memory may be made to UPMC Home Healthcare and Family Hospice of Huntingdon County. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care.
