Ronald E. Lyter, 57, of Lewistown, answered his final call on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026.
Born July 26, 1969, in Lewistown, he was the son of Larry and Betty (Berich) Lyter.
Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Dawn (McCoy) Lyter, whom he married on Sept. 24, 2016; his son, Kody Lyter and his companion, Caitlin Miller, of Lewistown; his stepdaughters, Kayla and Hannah McCoy, of Lewistown; his grandson, Mason McCoy; and his brother, Larry Lyter Jr. and his wife, Cheyna, of Allensville.
A 1988 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School, Ron devoted more than 34 years of his working life to Noerr's Garage, where he worked in the parts department. His dedication to serving others began at an early age. At just 14 years old, he became a member of the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Company, beginning a lifelong commitment to the fire service. He later continued that service with United Fire & Rescue Services in Lewistown. For Ron, being a firefighter was more than a responsibility, it was a calling to help others and serve his community.
Ron had a passion for dirt track racing and spent years as crew chief for his son's race team, KDL Motorsports. He took great pride in being part of the team and cherished the time spent alongside his son at the track. He was also an avid league bowler for many years, enjoying both the competition and camaraderie that came with the sport.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
