Michael Rex Armstrong

Michael Rex Armstrong, 42, of Belleville, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 9, 1984, in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of Jerry Armstrong and wife, Jean, of Florida and Carol (Knepp) Guyer and husband, Rex, of Huntingdon. On Aug. 14, 2005, he married Becky (Friesen) Armstrong, who survives at their home.

Along with his wife and parents, he is survived by children: Landen P. Armstrong and fiancé, Carianne Vargas, Bailey S. Armstrong, Allycia J. Armstrong and Jase A. Armstrong, all of Belleville; brothers: Mark Guyer, of Huntingdon, Alex Guyer and wife, Alyssa, of Cassville; mother and father-in-law: Mark and Urby Friesen, of Pucallpa, Peru; brother-in-law: Scotty Friesen and wife, Natalie, of Texas; sister-in-law: Tiffany Simmons and husband, Michael, of Pucallpa, Peru; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Michael was a 2002 graduate of Belleville Mennonite School. He received his Associates Degree at Hesston College, and a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from Liberty University in Christian Ministries.

Most recently, he owned and operated Armstrong Painting. He was formerly the Athletic Director at Belleville Christian School. He thoroughly enjoyed coaching, mostly soccer, but also basketball for a number of years, but his passion was being with and mentoring the kids and recognizing their potential.

Michael was a member of Allensville Mennonite Church, where he taught Sunday school, served as a mental health coach, a member of the Kingdom Seeker's Sunday school class, as well as various other roles at the church.

He enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, fishing, and reading. He loved music and was a music connoisseur. He also enjoyed traveling and taking trips to the beach with his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026 at 2 p.m. at the Belleville Christian School with Pastor's Bob Zook and Adam Peachey officiating.
