Mary K. Peachey, 88, of Mifflin, Pa. entered peacefully into her eternal reward on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, surrounded by her children.
Born Jan. 14, 1938 in Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Christian and Annie Kauffman. Her husband, Henry Peachey, whom she married Oct. 27, 1957, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son Titus, son-in-law Hyder, grandson Joshua, two brothers, Steve Kauffman, John Kauffman and sister Leah Kraly.
She is survived by children: Miriam (Jonas) Yoder, of Peru, Neb., Anna Ghulam, of Belleville, Pa., Eldon (Roxanne) Peachey, of Slanesville, W.Va., Laura (Jesse ) Zook, of Mifflin Pa., Arlan (Sally) Peachey, of Belleville, Pa., Lester Peachey, of Mifflin, Pa., Beulah (Titus) Kanagy, of Wytheville, Va, Karen Peachey, of Belleville, Pa., Wilma (Raymond) Miller, of Colon, Mich., Emma Jane (Marlin) Kropf, of Harrisburg, Ore., Mervin Peachey, of Mifflin, Pa., two sisters: Rebecca Peachey, of Belleville, Pa., Anna (Frederick) Helmuth, of Antrim, Ohio, 38 grandchildren, 34 great-granchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was a member of Valley View Church in Belleville. She lived by the verse, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." She will be remembered for her servant heart, lovingly reaching out to her family, neighbors, widows, and the elderly, and sharing meals and produce from her garden. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren looked forward to receiving birthday cards from her every year.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026. Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026 at 10 a.m. with officiating ministers: Philip Kauffman, Jason Zook and Earl Peachey. The viewing and funeral will be held at Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, 110 Applehouse Road, Belleville PA, 17004. Burial will be at Locust Grove cemetery.
