Crist K. Peachey left this earthly home on Aug. 25, 2026, reaching the age of 73 years, seven months, and one day. Born on Jan. 24, 1953 to John O. & Malinda Swarey Peachey in Lewistown.
He was joined in marriage to Margaret Mazelin, on April 25, 1976. Earlier this year, they celebrated their 50th anniversary, a day he anticipated but sometimes did not expect to see.
Crist loved to garden, and he raised and sold produce when he lived in McVeytown, Pa. He worked in various jobs before settling into a career at Walmart for nearly 22 years. He spent a lot of time working in the lawn and garden department.
Crist and his wife relocated to the central New York area in Nov. of 1996, and the Finger Lakes region became home. Crist was always interested in the weather and especially enjoyed winter.
When he could no longer be cared for at home, he accepted the necessity of moving to The Commons on St. Anthony, Auburn, N.Y. We very much appreciated the care he received there and enjoyed the friendships and connections that were made with the staff and other residents.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Margaret; children, Matt and Suzanna, of Fort Plain, N.Y., Melvin and Tanya, of Moravia, N.Y., Alan and Jennifer, of Waverly, N.Y., Angela, of Auburn, N.Y., and Esther, of Moravia, N.Y.. and 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa.
Calling hours are scheduled at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, 29 Woodland Drive, Moravia, N.Y. from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026. A funeral service is planned for 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 31, 2026.
