Rodney C. Snook

Rodney C. Snook, 75, of Reedsville, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 8, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born Dec. 9, 1950, in Lewistown, he was the son of Raymond H. Snook, Sr., and Dorothy McLaughlin Snook. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond H. Snook, Jr. and his wife, Carol D. Snook (Freed).

Rodney shared a home with his daughter, Betsy L. Crider (Gross) and husband, Richard D. Crider. He is also survived by his sweetheart, Louella Ritter of McClure, as well as his nephew, Chris Snook, of Lewistown and niece, Jenny Knepp (Snook), of McVeytown. His life was filled with so many friends and extended family who loved him dearly.

Rodney was a leading scorer in the Lewistown Granville Panthers and Mountain League basketball teams, often having his name and picture in the newspaper, as well as a member of the 1966 Championship Lewistown High School Football team. He was known for his talents in baseball and track as well. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors.

His love of life included his love of his pets throughout the years, from his dogs: Lady, who he found at a truck stop while driving back to PA from Nebraska, to Tar and Babe and his cat Thomas B. Squeaker.

He was a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, employed by The Printers (KB Offset Printing) and later by King-Barr Funeral Home.

Rodney was raised in the First Baptist Church in Lewistown and attended the Trinity Lutheran Church in McClure.

Rodney was a man who always had a smile. He strived to know those around him and shared experiences. He loved to laugh and could give as good as he got. He will be deeply missed by all those that loved him.

A Celebration of Life event will be held on July 12th at Birch Hill Event Center, 1100 N Pine St, Burnham. It will be an open house event from 2 to 7 p.m. A small memorial service at 4 p.m. with a buffet meal to follow.
