Marlene J. Marker

Marlene J. Marker, 85, of Lewistown, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Valley View Haven Retirement Community in Belleville

Born on Feb. 24, 1941, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Carl E. and Alsetta D. (Klinger) Sipe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles M. Marker, and her brother, Carl Sipe, Jr.

Marlene is survived by her daughter, Debra Hostetler and her husband, Dale, of Belleville; her son, Steven Marker and his wife, Lisa, of Reedsville; her grandchildren, Carli Donovan and her husband, Luke, Ryan Marker and his wife, Megan, Lucas Hostetler and his wife, Nicole, Emily Petersen and her husband, Ryan, and Shawn Marker and his wife, Kara; and her great-grandchildren, Connor Donovan, Logan Donovan, Noah Petersen, Jackson Marker, Alexis Yellets, Madelyn Marker, Gracelynn Hostetler, Liam Petersen, Weston Marker, and Leeland Hostetler.

For 13 years, Marlene owned and operated Marker’s Florist before later retiring from the pharmacy at Lewistown Walmart.

She attended Lewistown Alliance Church, Marlene’s faith was the foundation of her life. She found her greatest joy in her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether attending a sporting event, activity, or family gathering, she was always there to offer her love and encouragement. Her family was her greatest blessing, and she took great pride in celebrating each milestone and accomplishment. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, gentle spirit, and the countless memories she created with those she loved most.

A funeral service celebrating Marlene’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Lewistown Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Avenue, Lewistown, with Pastor Bill Miller officiating. Family and friends will be received for a viewing at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Private interment will follow at Samuel’s Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville.
