Larry R. Wolfe

Larry R. Wolfe, 69, of Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at home.

Born Nov. 13, 1956, in Mifflinburg, he was the son of the late Rodger and Lorraine (Miller) Wolfe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Brickell, and his stepson, Dale Treaster.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tracey (Betlyon) Wolfe; son, Aaron Wolfe and wife Samantha, of Fleetwood; granddaughter, Avery; stepchildren, Devin Treaster, of McClure, Samantha Marks and husband, Chris, of Reedsville, Dustin Treaster and wife, Jessica, of Burnham; and his twin brother, Garry R. Wolfe and wife, Vicki, of New Mexico.

Larry was a 1974 graduate of Mifflinburg High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

He dedicated 34 years of service to Mifflin County, retiring as head of domestic relations and chief of probation and parole. Over the course of his career, he served under multiple judges, was president of DRAP, and played a key role in developing child support and enforcement training. He concluded his professional career with the Justice and Safety Institute at Penn State University.

An avid outdoorsman and golfer, Larry enjoyed fly fishing and hunting pheasants with his dogs RJ, Sage, and Jade. He also cherished time spent in the woods hunting deer with friends and family, especially during the traditional muzzleloader season. In retirement, he joined a group of golfers known as Woody's Aces, based out of Lewistown Country Club, traveling with them to various courses.

Larry's lifelong love of baseball carried him from playing in his youth to coaching later in life. He began coaching Little League, advanced to JBR with Strodes Mills, and coached Mifflin County Legion baseball for 11 years. A devoted Phillies fan, he enjoyed traveling to games with his wife Tracey, visiting num- erous stadiums, and attending games with his granddaughter.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with a celebration of life service to follow at 7:30 p.m., with Pastor Bradley R. Zembower officiating.

Interment will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Birch Hill Cemetery.
