Jeffrey S. Metzgar, 63, of Lewistown, better known as “Scott” or “Scoot” by family and friends, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at his home.
Born on Nov. 7, 1962 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Vernon “Gene” Metzgar and Linda First.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a brother, Todd Metzgar, father in law, Larry Knepp, and beloved dogs, Riley and Cooper, all of whom he missed very much.
Scott is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Stacy (Knepp) Metzgar, whom he married on Sept. 1, 2007.
Also surviving are son, Jeff Metzgar and wife, Sandy; daughter, Jacey (Metzgar) Smith and husband, Owen; stepson, Zackary Deckman and companion, Bethany; brother, Steve Metzgar; stepmother, Dorinda Metzgar; stepfather, Robert “Bob” First; stepsister, Christina Mills and husband, Frank and Jackie Adams; stepbrothers, Tim Frock, and Jason First and wife, Sam; mother in law, Kathy Parson and husband, Bill; brother in laws, Larry “Joe” Knepp and wife, Holly and Kevin Knepp and wife, Tonya; many nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren, Odessa and Jasper, who he enjoyed.
Scott graduated from Lewistown Area High School and later worked at Marlette Homes and Standard Steel. He was also well known for DJ’ing for family and friends as well as at local events and establishments.
He enjoyed mountain rides, camping, hunting, fishing, listening to music, watching football, baseball and racing, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.
A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date.
