Hunter R. Massey

Hunter R. Massey, 21, of Mount Union, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Born Dec. 30, 2004, son of Paul Massey and Fiona (Berry) Closson; stepmother, Holly Massey and stepfather, Kenneth Thompson. Hunter is survived by a son, Knoxx Massey; brothers, Adam (Taylor) Massey and Alex Steffon; sisters; Zorrah (Brealin Swope) Massey and Lily Massey; girlfriend, Maddison Lentz; two nieces, one nephew and another niece or nephew on the way.

Hunter had a passion for cars in general but in particular, Volkswagens, from working on them to admiring them. He also loved going to the gym, where his determination and energetic spirit were just as evident as they were in every aspect of his life. Hunter was known for his outgoing personality, and contagious smile, he had a way of making everyone around him laugh. Hunter was also not afraid to say what was on his mind or tell you how it was. All those who know him would say he was so easy to talk to, and you could talk to him for hours. He also loved to go on random side quests. He treasured his friends and loved his family deeply, always making time for those who meant the most to him.

Although his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His laughter, kindness, and love for life will never be forgotten, and the legacy he leaves through his son and those whose lives he touched will endure forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hunter's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
